She is the eldest of 14 children. Father came from "Auen", mother of Ettenbach. She learned knitting and mending. She attends classes but does not go to school. By 14 Age education is rough. Three times a year, the family bathes in a tub. Anna on New Year's is locked in the dark basement, because she is not released in time for the rosary. She works in the summer on farms. At 22, she falls in love with a farmer's son. She has a child. She wants to return to her parents' house back. Her father denied the request. But then she is allowed. "That was the best Christmas party."
